项目摘要

現代女性のライフイベントと社会意識に関する調査を行い、またそれとともにこれまで行ってきた社会階層調査の分析を行った。調査では、女性のライフイベントの中核をなすと考えられる結婚や、職業について簡潔な調査票を工夫するとともに、ライフコース的アプローチから検討を加えるため、主な職業経歴についてもたずねた。調査によって回収した調査票をもとに、職業を中心にコーディングを行った。これらのコーディングの便宜のために新たなプログラムによるコーディング支援システムやコード表などの開発も行った。大量のデータを解析するため整備したコンピュータプログラミングを用い、調査データの統計的解析をすすめた結果、多くの知見が得られた。具体的には、特に女性のライフスタイルを決定づける結婚において、地位達成との関連を明らかにした。また、現代女性の社会進出がすすむ今日、職業キャリアをもつ女性のパーソナリティや不安感の実態がいかなるものかを明らかにした。さらに、結婚のハザード分布が階層により異なること、そして社会階層が個人のイベントのタイミングにどのような影響を与え、その帰結としてパーソナルヒストリーが社会階層といかなる関連を有しているか明らかにした。また関連する研究会に参加し、研究会においては、調査の結果得られたデータを解析するための統計手法、とくにイベントヒストリー分析や対応分析などについて、重点的に検討を行った。
