本研究では、オープン教育に関する現在の研究水準を確定するとともに、約3カ月間にわたって授業等のVTRによる観察調査や簡略な質問紙調査を実施し、同一地域内にあるオープンスクールでの教育実践と従来からの箱形学校でのそれとの比較研究を行った。その結果、まず第一にわが国では、建築学や教育方法学の一部の研究を除いて、学校内部の教育実践過程に関する実証的研究の蓄積がきわめて乏しく、印象論的な教育効果に関する言説が少なくないことがわかった。また第二に本実証研究の結果として、オープンスクールでは、教育活動それ自体の変化もさることながら、自分の教室に対する児童のアイデンティティが変化しやすく、床面など学習にも利用される教室空間の低位部分や室内遊びに利用可能な開放空間に教室的なシンボルを見いだしやすいことがわかった。さらに、第三にこうした生徒の空間認識の実態とは別に、教師はオープンスクールと教育実践との対応関係をパターン化して意識しやすいらしく、グループ学習やT.Tあるいは個別化学習などの実践と開放空間との関連づけの方策やその困難さに関する課題を語りやすいこともわかった。また、これと関連して、「オープンスペースの活用」が学習形態全般を変化させる場合の重要なキーワードとなったり、「声のダイヤル」が教室間の騒音に配慮した声のだしかたに関連づけられた学級経営を意味するなど、オープンスクールならではの学校文化や教室経営に関するタ-ミノロジーが生じうることもみとめられた。今回は研究期間の関係もあり、教育実践の現状を概括的に理解するにとどまったが、今後こうした知見をふまえて、さらに追跡調査等を実施し、組織文化と教育実践との関連について実証的に分析していきたいと考えている。

This study was conducted to determine the current level of education related research and to conduct a comparative study of box schools within the same geographical area. The first part of the study is architecture and educational methodology. The second part is the accumulation of evidence related to the process of education practice in schools. The third part is impressionism related to educational results. The results of the second empirical study show that educational activities include self-transformation, self-division of classrooms, children's self-transformation, bed surface learning, utilization of classroom space, low part of indoor swimming, and utilization of open space. The third part is about the situation of students 'spatial cognition, the relationship between teachers' and educational practice, and the problems related to individual learning, practice, spatial open policy and difficulties.
