本研究は、中国語で書かれた日本語資料のうち、『日本寄語』『日本一鑑』『日本風土記』等、明代江南地方で編まれた所謂倭寇史籍の注音漢字音系を詳細に分析することで、明代呉語の言語的特質、就中連続変調など現代呉語の音韻特質にいたる歴史的変化をあとづけることを、その第一段階としての目標に置いていたが、台湾中央研究院刊『中国境内語言曁語言学』第二集に発表した「『日本寄語』所反映的明代呉語声調」は、『日本寄語』所収の、漢字二音節・三音節で表記された日本語語彙のアクセントと漢語中古音声調との関係を考察した結果、異なる声調の用字を、日本語高低アクセントによって使い分ける傾向のあることを確認、それを他の文献資料と比較検討し、明代呉語声調の特徴を再構したものである。これによって、連続変調の痕跡が史的資料の上で立証されたことになる。また、『同志社女子大学学術研究年報』四十四集に掲載の「同志社大学蔵漢語方言訳等聖書について」は、江南以南方言史研究のための資料発掘という、所期の第二の目的に添うもので、同志社大学に所蔵されていた、全三十数種の漢語方言訳や少数民族語訳の新旧約聖書の書誌的考察、およびローマ字で表記された方言の漢字への翻字を試みたものである。これらは、研究費補助金によって購入したノート型パソコンや各種のデータベースソフトを使用することで、調査や整理に際して機動力を増し、短時間の内に成果を上げることができたものである。また、本年度は民間韻書等の通俗出版物などを何点か収集したが、引き続きその整理分析を行う予定である。
