平成7年3月1日現在の時点において、なされた研究実績は下記の通りである。本邦で初の当該言語の「記述文法」の作成という性質から、新たに得られた知見というよりも、現段階に置ける進捗状況を述べ、今後の展望を併記することとする。記述を終了した項目は、以下の30項目である。1.カンナダ文字、2.カンナダ語の音韻、3.性、4.数、5.人称、6.代名詞、7.疑問文、8.複数の体系、9.等位接続詞、10.動詞組織、11.命令法、12.名詞、代名詞の格組織、13.各格の用法、14.格形成におけるincrement、15.後置詞、16.不定詞の形成法と用法、17.所有表現、18.非人称動詞(be:ku-,be:Da-,ba:radu-,ku:Dadu-,gottu-,gottilla-,sa:ku-,sa:ladu-,iSTa-,iSTa illa、19.a:gu-が後続した非人称動詞、20.副詞化接辞 -aagi、21.コピュラ動詞 iru-と共起する -a:gi、22.コピュラ表現、23.可能法、24.定動詞の形成法、25.時制体系、26.動詞的分詞(converb)、27.動詞の否定活用、28.否定動詞、29.可能動詞、30.数詞体系。今後は、1.条件法、2.スペクト等を表示する複合動詞構造、3.アスペクト体系、4.現在分詞、5.動名詞、6.分詞名詞、7.形容詞的名詞、8.使役構造、9.受動構造、10.比較法、11.談話構造、12.-u:接辞の用法、等につき記述を進めて行き、記述文法の完成を目指す。語彙は、現在約2000形式を収集し終えたが、分類作業の過程であり、文法完成時と時を同じくし、初版を完成することを目指す。

Conversational construction, 12.- u: Use of words, etc., description of progress, description of grammar completion, etc. About 2000 words are collected, classified, completed, and published.
