生活者の観点に立って、福祉のまちづくりの現状を調査した。対象として、道路、歩道、鉄道、公園、トイレ、ショッピングモールなど多様な調査を実施した。具体的に障害者が利用する、生活するという観点で調査を実施したので、膨大に対象について、相当の時間を投入した。障害者のためのまちづくりはある部分で進んできたが、ある部分では不充分で、しかもこうした取り組みが、自治体により異なることなどを明らかにした。また、鉄道など広域の対象設備については、国レベルの対策が不可欠であることを明らかにした。これにより、生活者の観点に立って、福祉のまちづくりの手続きや、評価方法を見直し、より望ましい制度の構築が当事者市民や一般市民の参加により、達成できる方向を示すことができた。今後、こうした成果をさらに分析し、多様な方向で発表していきたいと思う。
