目前。作为远程教学的辅助手段，提出了利用卫星通信、Internet及其他ISDN线路进行远程教学的形式，并进行了部分实施的实验。其中，利用卫星通信进行远程教学，已优先在精品学校的校长和分校之间开展。最近，考虑到大学之间的学分交换的大学间教育交流网络“空间协作系统(SCS)”的运行试验开始了，目前已在60多所大学引入了其设施，并进行了大规模的试验。然而，这些都是以集体授课为对象的高校远程教学的情况。本系统的目的是将这种远程教学的场所适应于中小学教育的个别化教学系统，即在教室里安装电视会议系统来代替学习者，由学习者自己控制远程场所的电视摄像机，参与普通教学。本系统是通过互联网实现日本孤岛和偏僻山区的校长和分校之间的实时远程教学，并在残障人士专班的情况下，辅助长期住院的病人和与个人的授课。

As one side of TV conference is brought in classrooms as the substitute of learners, it is expressed as Substitute Learning Aiding System.The present system through Internet is the system that aids the real-time remote teaching connecting between the principal and branch schools in solitary islands and secluded mountainous areas in Japan, combined classes, in addition, long period patients in hospitals and classes with individuals in the case of the special classes for the handicapped.
