本年度は、古典インドのマヌ法典との密接な関連を示唆する未校訂古ジャワ法典『スワラジャンブ』(Swara Jambu)テキスト校訂と読解を、昨年度から引き績いておこなった。さらに、このテキストをマヌ法典とその諸註釈と比較対照させて、『スワラジャンブ』の典拠となったテキストの文献的特徴を考察した。さらに、昨年度までに扱った古ジャワ法典『クターラマーナワ』と『スワラジャンブ』の関係についても比較検討を加えた。『スワラジャンブ』はテキスト中にマヌ法典に対応するサンスクリット原文を含んでおり、直接マヌ法典を参照しているのが明らかである。ただし、一部のサンスクリット引用語句は、現行のマヌ法典校訂テキスト本文に対応箇所がなく、異読あるいは一部の註釈の中にのみ一致するものがある。これらを綿密に分析すれば、古ジャワ世界にどのような系統のマヌ法典伝承が受容されたかが明らかにされるだろう。『スワラジャンブ』も『クターラマーナワ』も、マヌ法典第8-9章の訴訟に関連する部分のみを参照しており、刑法・民法に相当する部分を選択的に古ジャワ語で導入したものと考えられる。したがってこれらのテキストが「ダルマ(正義、正しい生き方)の書」という古典インド本来の法典の性格を離れて、むしろ実用的な法律書として古ジャワ世界に適用されたようである。本研究により、古ジャワの2つの法典の電子テキスト化をおこなうことができた。批判的校訂テキストの最終版を仕上げるまでには至らなかったが、今後さらに両テキスト間の相互関係、サンスクリット原典と諸註釈との対応関係の文献研究を推進するために必要不可欠な基礎的研究実績といえる。
