本研究の実績は「11.研究発表」欄に示された論文等に結実した。論文ASIAN Financial Crisis and Japan'S Policy Responseは、日本が「通貨危機」(1997年7月)発生以降の過程において演じた政策的対応を「円の国際化」の視点から、「経済白書」(平成10年度)に述べられたアジア通貨危機に関する日本政府の政策的「解説」との「対応」を手がかりに、いわゆる「新宮沢構想」(300億ドル融資計画)に焦点を合わせて論じたものである。その第1稿は、1999年7月ワシントンで開催のCAAPA国際会議にて発表した。今一つの共編著書の論稿(Examining CEA and YEA...)はアジア通貨危機によってにわかに浮上した華人経済圏(人民元圏)と日本円圏の両者関係を、「地域通貨」としての条件をそれぞれ考察しつつ問題点を浮き彫りにしたものである。その第1稿は1998年11月ニューヨークで開催のAACS国際学会にて発表した。もう一つの共編著書の論稿(「直接投資に移行...」)はいわゆる「アジア型発展」(外資導入・輸出指向)の条件をアジア通貨危機の発生過程とその経済的結果に照明を当てつつ、直接投資時代に移行した通貨政策の課題と地域協力の緊急性を論じたものである。その第1稿は1998年3月筑波大学TARA国際シンポジウムにて発表した。以上の3点業は来年度の海外調査の土台を成すものであり、その点で所期の成果を上げたと考える。この間、研究組織の各の論稿において、アジア地域(単一)通貨の構想に接近するという萌芽的研究目的は一定程度達したと考える。
