Problems of the nations in the former Soviet Union

From 2000 to 2003 I visited Russia, Ukraine, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Armenia in order to gather books and materials about the project. I analyzed those materials as well as the materials gathered in Japan and wrote a report on problems of the nations in the former Soviet Union. The report is composed of five chapters as follows ; the first chapter focuses on the problems of the nations in the Russian Federation, especially on the historical background and the present state of the conflicts between Russia and Chechnya ; the second chapter deals with Jewish problems from the Russian Empire in the 19-th century to the new Russia ; the third chapter describes Russo-Ukraine relations after the disintegration of Soviet Union ; the fourth chapter deals with problems between Russia and Baltic States ; and the last chapter focuses on the problems of the trans-Caucasus nations.
