研究の最終年にあたる今年度は、昨年度までで得られた資料の整理・分析を行うとともに、それら資料に基づいた考察を行い、学会での発表や論文の発表を行った。7月に行われた南アジア研究合宿では、パブリック・スペース上で演じられる儀礼としてマイソールのダサラ祭をとりあげ、植民地統治下のインド王権について考察を行った。またこの研究合宿の報告を雑誌『南アジア研究』に発表した。昨年度投稿した英文論文「Forming a Class of Gentlemen : the Impact of Modem Education on the Ruling Caste, the Urs, in the Princely State of Mysore」もまた同雑誌に掲載された。また、2月末から3月まで、インド・カルナータカ州マイソール市への短期間の補足調査を行った。これは科学研究費による海外渡航調査である。この調査では、4月末に行われるインド総選挙に向けて、市内で大規模に行われている政治集会や、カースト集会の調査、王族カーストへの補足的なインタビューなどを行った。政治集会では現代でも政治の領域で積極的に用いられる王権をほのめかす言説とその運用をみることができた。また王族カーストへのインタビューでは彼等の親族関係について引き続き調査を行った。また彼等特有の住宅形式の実測調査を行い、これによって彼等の生活空間の特徴を明らかにすることができた。また本年度は主に関連する文献資料の読解およびその考察に多くの時間が割かれた。本研究は今年度で終了となるが、この研究で得られた成果は引き続き論文等の形で発表される予定である。
