The following results have been obtained along 2 years' project.1)Development of novel fragment imprinting methodFor a naturally occurring toxic compound, Microcystin, the novel fragment imprinting method was applied using Adda functional group as pseudo-template molecule. Interestingly, even alkylbenzenes could be utilized as effective pseudo-template to Microcystins, in addition, relatively loose molecular recognition ability based on alkylbenzene imprinted polymer was found to realize effective group recognition of Microcystins. This recognition was found to be based on their toxicity recognition.2)Group recognition based on toxicity recognitionIn addition to the results described above, an imprinting for glutamic acid moiety was also quite effective for the group recognition. This was found to be based on interesting exclusion mechanism for other less important functional groups of Microcystins.3)Pre-treatment of environmental waterthe separation media obtained showed concentration effect of the target homologues, while other contaminants were easily excluded from the separation media. This is very important because much easier pre-treatment can be done using the obtained separation media.
