项目摘要

今年度は、企業間での信頼関係が、そこでの社会的ネットワークにおけるコミュニケーションにより発展するメカニズムについて「新しい経済社会学」の「埋め込み」理論に基づいて理論的検討や実証的分析を行った。Rowley et al. (2002)は、Uzzi(1996)やGulati(1998)らの「埋め込み」理論に基づき、企業間での社会ネットワークは二つの次元で信頼関係を発展させると整理した。まず個別的な関係に発展する互酬関係が、企業間での互いの互恵性の意思を発達させて「関係的信頼」を高める。第二に評判情報を高度流通させられる企業間ネットワークがある場合には、企業間で相互の能力や行為成果についての期待が形成しやすい。この議論に基づき、前年の電機メーカー東北リコーと東北パイオニアでの企業間の生産系列における外注企業協力会の品質管理をめぐるコミュニケーション・ネットワークの構造とその組織間信頼への影響について分析をした。その結果、外注企業協力会も二つのグループに分かれていた。まず相互に多元的な相互作用を行い強い紐帯を持っグループと、2社的な取引関係に留まり弱い結びつきを持つグループである。前者は紐帯の強さや凝集性の高さという個別的関係の強さを持つグループであり、非常に高い関係的信頼性を持ち、長期的取引や協力関係への無限定的な貢献の期待が高かった。この中核グループは、発注大手企業の加工過程を請け負い、品質改善への長期的取り組みを行っているものの数が限定されていた。生産系列はこのように2種類に分かれ、脱系列化においては、むしろ強い連結を持つ中核的な外注グループとそうでない流動的グループに分かれる傾向が強まるだろう。こうした点を組織学会や日本社会学会などで報告し、多くの研究者が支持的な評価を受けることが出来た。今後はこれが情報化・国際化でどのように変わるかを検討したい。
