近年、青少年による凶悪な殺人事件等の不適応行動が社会問題となっており、その原因については様々な議論があるが、この問題を実際に検討した研究は少ない。そこで、本研究では、2次的データ分析(平成14年度)、調査研究(平成15年度)、パネル研究(平成16年度)によって、青少年の不適応行動の生起過程を検討した。平成16年度は、先行研究(e.g.,Suzuki et al.,2005)、平成14年度の2次的データ分析、平成15年度の調査研究を踏まえ、青少年の不適応行動の原因として、直接的な日常経験としての「ネガティブイベントの生起」、間接的な経験としての「テレビ視聴」を測定した。高校2年生を対象としてパネル調査を実施した結果、日常的なネガティブイベントが多いほど、不適応行動(他者への身体的攻撃,言語的攻撃)を多くとっていることが示された。また、日常的なネガティブイベントの生起を内容別に分析した結果、親、友人に関するネガティブイベントが多いほど、不適応行動を多くとっていることも示された。さらに、ネガティブイベントが不適応行動を生起させる過程にかかわる要因として、社会性の発達について検討した結果、社会性(認知的熟慮性)の高い人では、日常的なネガティブイベントの生起が多くても不適応行動が生起しにくいことが示された。テレビ視聴については、全体的な視聴時間が長いほど不適応行動が促進されるという結果は見られなかったが、視聴する番組の種類によって、不適応行動が促進される場合も、抑制される場合もあることが示された。
