本年度の研究計画に従い、まず、イタリアや北欧など、昨年積み残された形となった国について、国別のケーススタディを進めた。作業は、研究書や論文などの二次文献からのデータ収集と再構成が中心となったが、国内の西欧政党政治研究者との討議を契機に、若干の一次資料も利用することができた。昨年度、かなり作業の進んだ第四共和制・第五共和制のフランスや、戦後日本の複数のケースについても、さらに補足的な資料収集と分析を行った。以上の補完的なケーススタディの作業から、50〜60年代のイタリア社会党の経験が日仏の事例との比較上、極めて有益であることを確認し、主としてこれらのケースを軸に据え、中北欧の国々を対象事例としてモデルを構築するという見通しを固め、本年度の主たる作業である比較理論化・モデル化に取り掛かった。まず、クライエンティリズム型、サブカルチュア型、ミリタン型など、各国毎の政党組織を類型化し、これに定量的な基礎付けを与えた上で、党組織の規模や類型、制度的な特徴と、連合政権への参加に伴う党内組織の動揺(これも指標化)との間の相関をモデル化する点に力点を置いて作業を進めている。これまでの作業で、各変数間の基本的な相互関係は概ね把握できたといえる。ただし、モデル化を進める中で、政権参加政党間の政策(イデオロギー)距離や議席配分など、連合政治の諸要因に関するデータの収集が必ずしも十分でないことに気付き、この点の補足作業を行なったため、理論化の方は遅延している。より明確な相関を抽出すべく、媒介変数の取り方でも試行錯誤を繰り返しており、具体的な成果の発表には、なお一定の時間を要する見込みである。(695字)
