今年度は推定量の性質の良さの一つの基準である許容性に関連した研究を行なった。得られた結果の中で最も重要なものは、この分野で知られた一般化ベイズ推定量が許容的であるためのBrownやBrown-Hwangの十分条件をより理解しやすく拡張、一般化したことである。Brown and Hwang (1983)は許容性を示すのに必要な「対象となるimproper prior densityに近づくproper prior density」の列として、ある点で打ち切ったdensityを用いた。しかし打ち切ると微分可能性がなくなり、非常に取り扱いが難しい。彼らが扱ったのは多変量指数型分布族の自然母数ベクトルの推定問題であるが、それ以外の問題にはこの列を適用しにくかった。私は多変量指数型分布族と、多変量球面対称分布の位置母数ベクトルの推定問題を考えた。これらの問題に対する一般化ベイズ推定量の許容性に適したproper prior densityの列として、サポートが多次元のユークリッド空間全体であり、無限回微分可能なものを提案した。その列を用いることにより、調和関数をprior densityとした一般化ベイズ推定量が許容的であることが分かった。さらに調和関数よりもslowly varying function分だけ裾が重いprior densityに対しても許容性が示された。分布を正規分布に限定した場合に、一般化ベイズ推定量に対し、許容的、非許容的の境界(必要条件、十分条件)がBrown(1971)によって得られている。私は、Brown(1971)のような数学的に多くの道具を用いることなく、ほぼ同様の強い十分条件を、多変量正規分布を一般化した多変量球面対称分布の場合に得た。

This year, we will conduct research on quantitative properties and good benchmarks. The most important part of the result is the generalization of the content of the Brown-Hwang condition. Brown and Hwang (1983) show the necessity of tolerance by stating that "the proper prior density is the proper prior density." It's hard to get the differential probability right. The natural matrix of the multi-variable exponential distribution family is applicable to the estimation problem.
