まず、ベンチャー企業における会計システムについて文献研究を行った。その結果、ベンチャー企業の何らかの特性に基づいて類型化し、発展段階を記述・整理した研究はほとんどないことが判明した。会計システムの発展に関しては、新規上場における会計システムの整備についての要件が報告されているだけであった。これは、会社が上場する際、外部監査人による財務諸表監査が上場基準の一つであることから、財務諸表監査が実施できるほどの内部統制制度が整備されているか否かが要件とされるのである。上場が目的で、上場するのに足りる要件として会計システムの整備が求められている。本研究では、成功しているベンチャー企業では上場・非上場を問わず、会計システムが発展していると考え、会計システムの整備が成功の要件になっているとする研究仮説を立て、中小企業において会計システムの整備状況をアンケート調査することにした。ベンチャー企業の多くが上場を目指すが、上場を目指している企業とそのような意図を持たない企業を外部から区別することは非常に困難である。経営者の意図だからである。そこで、アンケート調査を実施する際には、現状だけではなく、過去についても調査項目を設けることによって、企業がどのように会計システムを発展させているかを調査することにした。これにより、上場しようとしているかどうか不明の企業にアンケートを発送し、回答を得ることで、ベンチャー企業の成功要因としての会計システムの整備状況を間接的に調査することにした。本年度はアンケートでの調査項目の選定を研究課題とした、この課題はほぼクリアした。次年度にアンケート調査を実施する予定である。
