项目摘要

バルトークの創作活動におけるモダニズムとナショナリズムの関係を考える一つの事例として、前年度に引き続き、本年度もバルトークと1910年代のブダペストのカバレー文化との関わりについて研究を行った。『西方』誌の作家達を中心とするハンガリーの文学運動と結びつく形で、当時のカバレーにおいては新しいポピュラー音楽文化が生じていた事を前年度の研究では示した。バルトークのこの時期の声楽作品を見ると、作詞者の選択においても、朗唱風なテクニックを多用したそのスタイルにおいても、シャンソンに代表されるこうした新しいポピュラー文化との関係が見てとれるのだが、本年度の研究はさらに、両者の間に文学と音楽の融合を目指す、一種の総合芸術の構想が共通して見られる事を明らかにした。このトピックについては、既に7月にメルボルンで開かれた国際音楽学会と、10月に京都で開かれた美学会で研究発表を行っているが、論文の準備はやや遅れており、現在準備中である。もう一つの課題として交付申請時に計画していた、1920年代以降における「古典」概念の形成の問題については、ハンガリーへの出張が実現しなかった事もあり、具体的な研究成果を年度内に出すまでには至らなかった。ただ、カバレーの研究の中で、1910年代のバルトーク達に総合芸術を目指す構想があった事が明らかになってきた事は、1920年代以降の新古典主義的な傾向への転換を考察する上でも大いに意味のある事だったと言えるだろう。ここまで得た知見を活かす事を、今後の課題としたい。
