Medical Cost Reduction from Healty Promotion Intervention for Community Elderly

人们普遍认为，生活方式与健康状况之间存在重要关系。本研究利用"阿美族老年人健康促进调查（复查）"的数据，对茨木县阿美町的老年社区居民的生活方式与健康状况的关系进行了调查。（7，800人中4，898人; 62.8%）我根据自我评估的健康状况将受试者分为不适组和健康组，并检查了生活方式对健康的影响。健康状况不佳的比例由1999年的64.8%上升到71.5%，生活方式有所改善。此外，健康促进活动的干预措施维持了老年人的健康状况，并推测了医疗费用控制的效果。

It is generally accepted that there are significant relationships between lifestyle and health status. However, such relationships have not been well documented in the case of the Japanese elderly population.Data from the Ami Health Promotion for Elderly Survey (reexamination) were employed to investigate the relationship between lifestyle and health status from elderly community residents in the Ami Town, Ibaraki Prefecture.(4,898 from 7,800 persons ; 62.8%) I divided the subjects into an unwell group and a healthy group based on self-evaluated health status, and examined the effects of lifestyle on health. The rate of those who were not in good health increased to 71.5%, although year of 1999 were 64.8%.The improvement of lifestyles were found in the results of the investigation. Moreover, the health status of elderly persons were maintained by interventions of the health promotion activity, and the effect of medical cost containment were presumed.
