项目摘要

産業集積は、もともと研究対象としてきた経済地理学や地域科学のみならず広く社会科学の研究者に関心をもたれるようになった。一昨年度から引きつづいて、様々な視点からの国内外での研究についてレビューを行いつつ、グローバルな空間的分業が形成されるもとで産業集積が再編しつつも意義を高めていることについて、説得力のある枠組みから解明を目指した。具体的な第一の課題である日本的生産システムと産業集積との関わりについては、生産規模、取引関係、取引以外の企業間関係、地域労働市場を含めた分析を行い、カナダの大学出版会から出版される単行本に所収される論文として提出し、刊行を待っている。昨年3月末の日本地理学会にて「生産規模、製品品質と地域的生産システム」として報告を行った後、関係性資産や関係特殊技能という観点から、日米の自動車産業集積を比較した共著論文、およびカナダにおける自動車生産の集積に関する論文を英文で作成にかかっている。テレビ産業に関しては、薄型テレビへの移行という技術革新の影響から国際分業が変化するなか、集積の意義と変容を今年度秋および来年度春に国際学会で報告し、難しいトピックであるが論文をまとめたい。第二の課題である大都市圏経済と産業集積との関わりについては、研究代表者によるこれまでの研究を、産業集積と大都市圏経済に関する著書としてまとめつつある。アメリカ合衆国の学会誌への東大阪の中小企業集積に関する共著論文は、少し方向性を見直し再投稿に向け論文を修正中であり、来年度できるだけ早い時期の再投稿に向けて作業している。このほか、日本の大都市圏における新産業の集積に関する英語論文や大都市圏経済と産業集積に関する日本語著書を準備している。
