昨年度の引き続き、M県S市で行われている高齢者向け生涯学習講座をフィールドとし、高齢者相互が教え合うという「ピア・エデュケーション」及び高齢者相互の学びあいと高齢者のQOLについて調査を実施し分析を行った。調査対象も昨年度と同様、この講座の受講生及び卒業生で、年齢は主に60歳代であった。調査結果の概要は、以下の通りである。(1)生涯学習講座への参加動機は、自ら学びたい・人間関係を広げたいという本人の意志による積極的な理由とともに、配偶者や家族から進められたなどの理由も1/4程度あり、周囲に進められての参加理由を挙げたのは男性が多かった。しかし、参加理由にかかわらず、卒業時の講座に対する評価は高く、中でも、高齢者相互に学び合う講座の満足度は非常に高かった。この講座では、従来の講義形式に加えて高齢者相互が教え合う時間を積極的にバックアップしており、この試みが講座への継続的な参加に伴う高齢者のさまざまな意欲を高めていると考えられる。(2)卒業生による自主講座も積極的に開かれているが、昨年から今年にかけて自主講座の内容にバリエーションが広がり、参加人数も増えていた。また七夕祭りの参加などの地域貢献活動が活発となり、この活動を通しての生活満足度も高い傾向にある。高齢者自身が地域とつながりを持ち地域の役に立っているという感覚、これらの活動を通しての人間関係の広がりが、高齢者の精神的健康に良い影響を及ぼしている。
