项目摘要

平成23年度は、ハンセン病元患者6名(いずれも70～80歳代)と面談を行い、彼らの世代継承的(generativity)な意識と行動などについて聞き取りを行った。結果は概ね次の通りである(この結果は現段階のものであり、今後変わりうる可能性に注意してほしい)。1)世代継承的な意識や行動については個人差が大きいことが示唆された。2)世代継承的な意識が強く、実際的に行動されている方には、一般市民の支援者がおり、支援者とのかかわりが彼らの意識を高め、行動を拡大させたようである。行動としては、ハンセン病者としての語り部活動が中心であるが、児童福祉や震災支援への寄付活動もみられる。意識としては、自らの人生を語ることでハンセン病の啓発が進むと同時に、自らの社会的存在を確認する機会になっているようである。また、これらの活動が主に子どもや若い世代を対象としたものである点が特筆される。3)今回の調査で世代継承的な意識や行動があまりみられなかった方の特徴としては、現在の仕事が忙しい、自らの健康を害している、在郷家族との関係が芳しくない、障害が比較的重いなどがあげられる。概して自分のことで精いっぱいとの印象を受けた。4)これまでの調査で世代継承的な意識や行動があまりみられなかったとされた方のなかに、東日本大震災の被災者支援への寄付行為を行った人が存在した。この方の語りでは、社会へコミットできたことへの満足感が表明されている。これは世代継承的な意識や行動が社会的事象によって引き出された例である。
