项目摘要

本研究はスリランカにおける家族の構造と形成について実証分析を通じて明らかにすることを目的としている。本年度の研究はスリランカの以下のような現状、動向から浮上する疑問を明らかにすることができた。第一にコロンボ都市部は戦後他の途上国とは異なり、低い都市人口増加率が指摘されてきた。この低い流動性が家族の構成や形成過程にどのような影響を与えているのか。さらに2000年以降の和平合意による社会の安定や経済成長への期待が都市人口に変化を与えるのか。第二に1981年の人口センサスの結果から有配偶女子世帯主の存在が確認されたが、その成立過程については明らかにされていない。本調査ではスリランカの世帯の中の世帯主のあり方やその交代のパターンを考察するきっかけとなる。第三にスリランカは高齢化社会に突入した途上国のひとつである。高齢者の居住状況の把握は高齢者扶養問題の現状把握だけでなく、社会福祉の政策的なひとつのインプリケーションとなる。特に郊外型の工業化を推進するスリランカにとって大都市部における独居高齢者問題が顕在化する可能性がある。このようなスリランカ都市部の社会状況やその変化が世帯にどのような影響を与えるのかを知ることができる。本調査で得られた結果は以下の通りである。1.本調査により居住年数の長期化が進み、人の移動は同県、同区内移動が主流であり、距離が極めて短い。2.この低い流動性から、世帯構造は民族に関わらず直系を基本とした核家族、拡大家族によつて構成されている。3.本調査により妻方同居の婚姻形態が多く見受けられ、世帯主交代においてさまざまなケースが存在することが認められた。4.本調査の結果から高齢者は、実子同居の形態をとっていることが明らかとなった。さらに扶養という視点に立つとき、配偶者そして実娘への期待が高いことが明らかとなった。
