Archaeological and Anthropological Studies of the Formation and Genealogy of the Thracians

我们，东海大学色雷斯探险队，在保加利亚的Dyadovo tell进行了两个季节的实地研究，在2004年和2005年。本研究的主要目的概括为以下两点：1.通过对Dyadovo tell遗址的发掘，展示了保加利亚色雷斯平原青铜时代早期（EBA）遗址的聚落结构。从保加利亚青铜时代和铁器时代遗址中发现的古人类骨骼中提取DNA信息，探讨各文化群与族群之间的关系，为获得色雷斯平原EBA聚落结构的标准模型，我们在Dyadovo区中心发掘了几座民居。在这些房屋的地面下发现了三个罐子，它们被认为是房屋建造前进行的“大地安抚仪式”的特殊祭品。除了挖掘外，我们还通过电磁波雷达的方法在整个告诉区域进行了地下测量，并在告诉的边缘区域开辟了三个新的沟槽。但由于时间不够，他们没有深入到青铜时代的地层。DNA分析现在正在进行中，使用了从保加利亚不同遗址提取的113个样本，这些样本可以追溯到铜器时代、青铜时代、铁器时代和中世纪。

We, the Tokai University Thracian Expedition, carried out the field research at Dyadovo tell in Bulgaria for two seasons in 2004 and 2005. The main purposes of the research are summarized into two points as follows :1. Demonstrating the settlement structure of the Early Bronze Age (EBA) site in the Thracian Plain in Bulgaria by the excavation of Dyadovo tell,2. Extracting the DNA information from the old human bones found in the Bronze Age and the Iron Age sites in Bulgaria, and investigating the relationship between each culture group and the ethnic group.For getting the standard model of the EBA settlement structure in the Thracian Plain, we excavated several dwelling houses in the center of the Dyadovo tell. Three jugs were found under these house-floors, and they were thought to be the special offerings as the "earth-placating ritual" performed before house-construction.Besides excavation, we carried out the underground surveying through the method of the electromagnetic wave radar in the whole area of the tell, and opened three new trenches set at the marginal areas of the tell. But they did not go down to the Bronze Age layer because of the lack of time.The DNA analysis is just on the move now, using 113 samples extracted from various sites in Bulgaria dating from Chalcolithic, Bronze Age, Iron Age, and Medieval Times.
