项目摘要

本研究では,漸近解析と数値的手法を用いて非線形反応拡散方程式に現れる進行波の性質を調べている.今年度は,前年度に行った非一様な媒質中の進行波に関する問題の研究をさらに推し進めた.特に,境界がノコギリの歯状をした領域における進行波の問題については,これまで未解明であった解の境界付近での漸近展開の重要な足がかりが得られた.また,波状境界が進行波の速度に及ぼす影響についても,詳細な数値計算データを集め,これまでの予想がほぼ裏付けられた.これらの成果の内容をさらに掘り下げて結果をまとめ,今年中に専門雑誌に発表したいと考えている.冬にはBowen氏はイギリスを訪れ,ノッティンガム大学のJ.R.King教授と研究情報の交換をした.また,本学のG.Weiss助教授と脈動進行波やHele-Shaw方程式に関する情報交換も行った.これとは別に,Duke大学のT.P.Witelski教授とBowen氏は,Springer出版社に漸近解析と摂動法の入門書に関する執筆計画書を提出した.これまで得られた成果をセミナーや研究集会で数回発表した.また,Bowen氏は以前から科学者の社会貢献を重視しており,今年度は「JSPSサイエンス・ダイアログ」事業に協力して山梨県都留高等学校で高校生と交流した.

In this study, asymptotic analysis and numerical value methods are used to modify the properties of non-linear anti-dispersion equations. This year, the research on the problem of wave propagation in different media has been pushed forward.
