项目摘要

The purpose of this study was to develop the collaborative strategy by school counselors and teachers for classroom improvement, based on the findings and experiences that have been obtained in the countries that have advanced school counseling system, such as the U.S.The survey was conducted in Hawaii, Oregon, and New York in the U.S., and Scotland and England in UK In addition, the classroom climate consultation conducted to approximately 200 classes, including those schools that employed the Subject Centre System, in Japan. The results of the survey and the consultation indicated that ;a) unique climate was observed in each classroom, even in the schools that employed the Subject Centre System in which the homeroom teachers had limited amount of time to interact with the pupilsb) no matter the difference of the educational administration between Japan and the U.S., the classroom climate reflected the way of classroom management and instruction of the homeroom teachersc) as seen in t … More he practices in the U.S. and UK, the framework or the system, where the school counselors present the schools' needs to the schools and work collaboratively with the teachers, was necessary and effective to accomplish the school improvement by the school counselorsd) the classroom consultation using the Classroom Climate Inventory would be evolved by combining with other mental health related measures, such as the Mental Health Tool and the Multidimensional Students' Life Satisfaction Scalee) the classroom consultation using the Classroom Climate Inventory would be applicable to the multi-level of the school education system (e.g., individual teacher level, grade level, and whole school level)f) the classroom consultation using the Classroom Climate Inventory could be installed into the schools as a part of the teachers' in-service training, and there can be some additional tips for implementationBased on these findings above, we developed the computer-scored Classroom Climate Inventory and the consultation forms, and we proposed the consultation method for classroom improvement through teachers' in-service training consisting of the presentation of the classroom climate survey results, and classroom/individual-level consultation.
