19世紀哲学史における哲学書の「翻訳」をテーマに、いかなる哲学書が、フランス、ドイツ、イギリスなどで相互に翻訳され、標準的な哲学史観ができあがっていくかを概観した。背景には、ナショナリズムの成立と国家としての哲学イデオロギー、教育体制と哲学教育の制度化が挙げられる。具体的には、哲学史書の相互翻訳、ドイツ哲学者フィヒテのフランス語翻訳とその解釈、フランス哲学者V.クーザンのプロシア教育体制の報告という場面における「翻訳」をとおして、哲学史の新しい理解の道を示した。
