上皮性癌の腫瘍マーカーとして知られている扁平上皮癌抗原(SCCA)を標的とした癌ペプチドワクチン療法を確立するために、日本人の6割が発現するHLA-A24分子と日本人の4割が発現するHLA-A2分子陽性癌患者に対する癌ワクチン療法に応用できるSCCA由来ペプチドの同定を試みた。その結果、HLA-A24分子陽性癌患者に利用できるSCCAペプチドを2個同定でき、上皮性癌患者に対するSCCAを標的とした癌ワクチン療法の可能性が示唆された。
