フラクタルやランダム媒質を典型例とした複雑な系の上で、熱がどのように伝導するかといった物理現象を解明するため、系の上の確率過程や対応する自己共役作用素の解析を行った.確率過程論と実解析学の手法を融合させる事により、汎用性の高い解析の方法を確立し、いくつかのモデルについて熱核の詳しい評価を与えた.また、シェルピンスキーカーペット上のブラウン運動の一意性という当該分野の20年に渡る未解決問題を、肯定的に解決する事に成功した.
