Determining the relationships among the factors relating to the water and sanitation issues in rural areas of Bangladesh, a planning scheme, which will make the living environment sustainable and lead poverty alleviation through the safe water supply and sanitary improvement by applying locally appropriate technologies in the local community, has been proposed. It is demonstrated how local people has raised their awareness related to water and sanitation issue and their willingness to improve the living environment after participating the planning process.
