細胞接着分子TSLC1 の男性不妊症、潰瘍性大腸炎における病理学的意義を検討した。Tslc1遺伝子欠損マウスが精子形成障害を示す知見に基づき、130 例のヒト男性不妊症例を解析し、TSLC1 タンパク質発現欠如を示す6 例を見出したが遺伝子変異は認めなかった。一方、TSLC1遺伝子の転写制御機構を解明し、精巣での新規結合タンパク質を同定した。さらにTSLC1 タンパク質の発現が潰瘍性大腸炎の病勢に相関することを見出した。
