バックグラウンドガス中でパルスレーザをターゲットに照射するとナノ結晶が生成する。本研究ではバックグラウンドガスにヘリウムと水素の混合ガスを用いナノ結晶を作成することによって、水素による表面水素化とナノ結晶の衝突位置が空間上と基板上で生成したナノ結晶集合体の構造を制御することに成功した。ナノ結晶の集合構造はナノ結晶間の相互作用によってナノ結晶集合体の光学的および電気伝導特性に影響を与えることを明らかにした。
