本研究では、吉野川流域の自然環境、災害史、災害の民俗に関わる空間情報をGISを用いてデジタルマップに集約した上で、使い吉野川流域の自然環境と民俗事象の相関関係を統合的に検討する作業を行い、河川環境と災害の民俗の関連を客観的に論証した。こうした作業を通して、災害の民俗〓生活の中から生み出された伝統的な治水対策が、当地の自然環境にいかに適応的になされてきたものであるかを立証した。方法論としては、民俗分析におけるGISの有効性を示した。

This study aims to demonstrate how to integrate spatial information related to natural environment, disaster history, and disaster folklore in the Yoshino River Basin with GIS, and how to integrate spatial information related to natural environment, disaster history, and disaster folklore in the Yoshino River Basin. The natural environment of the area is suitable for the development of natural disasters. Methodology and folkloric analysis show the effectiveness of GIS.
