Theoretical inquiry of attenuation of public space and individualization of society

本研究的目的是构建公共空间衰减化与社会个性化的一体化理论模型。我们相信我们可以展示一个中心思想，即使它不是一个完整的理论。中心思想与贝克(1986)提出的几乎相同，但我们自己的中心思想是，一些贝克不一定提到的其他变化，如社区的变化，新传播媒体对日常生活的渗透，或者消费的修改，可以描述为我们生活的制度化或系统化的“意想不到的影响”。我们认为，这一观点不仅是全面解释当代社会变革的关键，而且是各种社会理论的一种整合，它可以给我们一个观点，让我们理解我们的社会所面临的当前趋势的意义。

The aim of this research project is construction of integrative theoretical model of attenuation of public space and individualization of society. We believe we could exhibit a central idea, even if it was not a complete theory.The central idea is almost the same as Beck (1986) proposed, but our own is that some other changes, which Beck did not necessarily mentioned, like changes of communities, penetration of new communication media into everyday life, or modification of consumption, are describable as "unintended effects" of institutionalization or systematization of our life. We believe this idea is the key not only to total explanation of contemporary social change but also to a kind of integration of various social theories, and which could give us a viewpoint to understand the meaning of present tendencies which our societies face.
