写像fは微分可能閉多様体上の微分同相写像とし, pをfのひとつの双曲型周期点とする。本研究の目的は, pを含むfの鎖成分C_f(p)がC^1-安定的擬軌道尾行性をもつとき, C_f(p)を双曲的なホモクリニッククラスとして特徴付けることである。平成19年度, C_f(p)-芽拡大性を仮定することによりその双曲性が証明された。平成20年度は, C_f(p)-芽拡大性の仮定を取り除くことに挑戦した。つい最近, 報告者の研究成果にLiao理論を応用することにより, 北京大学のグループがC^1-安定的擬軌道尾行性をもつ鎖成分Cf(p)の双曲性の証明に成功した。
