高齢者を念頭にした老化血管における動脈硬化症退縮における血管老化制御の可能性を検討した.まず動脈硬化症への老化の関与及び一酸化窒素(NO)の老化に対する効果や冠危険因子との相互作用を検討した.次いで、老化に加えて高齢者に寄与の大きい動脈硬化危険因子としてエストロゲン(欠乏)、糖尿病、そして治療手段であり老化への直接作用もあるインスリンの老化及び血管機能への影響を検討した.
