脳腫瘍の臨床検体から腫瘍幹細胞を分離・培養する技術を確立しCD133陽性細胞の陽性率と病理組織標本での幹細胞マーカーとの比率を検討した。CD133陽性細胞より採取したRNAから高発現している分子候補を選択しtumor sphere-initiating cellを濃縮するマーカーを得た。得られた分子を抑制することによりcell motilityは上昇し細胞侵潤などに関係すると想像され、腫瘍幹細胞を抑制する分子標的薬剤の開発の可能性を広げると考える。
