会議は大きく分けるとアイディアを出す発散段階と決議する収束段階からなるが、会議を支援するツールや研究の多くは、いずれかのフェーズに限定した支援がほとんどであり、会議のプロセスを総合的に支援することができていない。その一因として、会議状態を定量化することが行われていないことがあげられる。本研究では、発話音声の非言語的コミュニケーション・チャネルに着目し、ダイナミックに変化する会議状態の判別の可能性について実験的に検証を行った。その結果、発散段階の会議メンバーは収束段階のメンバーよりも自由にかつ多く発話し、知人同士のグループのメンバーは初対面同士よりも会話のインタラクティブ性が高く、難易度の高いタスクのグループの方が低いタスクよりも会話の間が長くなることを確認した。
