本研究では,意味と形式の注意配分が英語リスニングの意味理解に与える影響に関する実証研究を行った。形態素の数を数えながら聴解しようとする形態素群,文の数を数えながら聴解しようとする統語群,聴解だけに集中する統制群を比較した。その結果,文法形態素への注意配分は意味理解を阻害すること,また,文の数を数えさせるという統語的特徴への注意配分は文法形態素への注意配分ほど意味理解を阻害しないことが示された。
