This study empirically clarifies differences in households' and persons' folk classification knowledge of settlement space such as minor place names, agricultural plot names, and orientations within Japanese villages. These differences are clarified based on an analysis of each household's economic class and each person's gender. The author also re-examines the common viewpoints of humanistic geography, which can lead to a theoretical basis for studies on spatial folk classification within villages both inside and outside Japan.

本研究实证性地阐明了日本村庄内小地名、农地名称和朝向等聚落空间的家庭和个人民间分类知识的差异。通过对每个家庭的经济阶层和每个人的性别进行分析，澄清了这些差异。笔者还重新审视了人文地理学的共同观点，为国内外村落空间民俗分类研究提供了理论基础。
