テルル化カドミウム半導体検出器を用いた高精度ガンマ線プローブを開発し、それを用いてガンマ線源の3次元位置検出法の実証を行った。1.4mm角ピクセルを持つCdTe検出器を4段積層したプローブを製作し、様々な線源からのガンマ線を用いた実証実験を通して、3次元の位置検出法を確立した。また、コンプトンカメラとして3次元イメージング手法を発明し、数cm先で、約1mmの位置分解能を達成できることを実測で確認を行った。
