项目摘要

2016年度は主に以下の2つの領域で研究成果を得た。①プラトン以外のソクラテス像の研究：研究課題のテーマであるプラトンのソクラテスの独自性を理解するために、アリストファネス『雲』、クセノフォン『弁明』の研究を行った。アリストファネス『雲』はこれまで、ソクラテスをソフィスト・自然哲学者と混同しているとされ真剣な研究対象にはなってこなかった。本研究では、演劇的構造の分析により、アリストファネスがソクラテスをソフィスト・自然哲学者と同一視していないことを明らかにした。そのうえで、『雲』のソクラテス批判が共同体と哲学者の関係性、すなわち後者の非政治性にある点を解明した。クセノフォンの『弁明』は、通常、ソクラテスを単純で面白みのないモラリストとして描き哲学的要素をそぎ落とされてしまったと解釈されてている。本研究はこのクセノフォン評価を批判し、『弁明』の課題は、哲学者としてのソクラテスが、市民として共同体といかに調和するかであることを示した。これらの研究は英語で執筆され、国内外のジャーナルに掲載された。②プラトン『弁明』の研究：本研究課題の主題である『ソクラテスの弁明』を取り上げ、通常「脱線」と呼ばれる第一弁論後半部の読解を行った。従来の研究では、告発状・告発者についてよりも長いこの箇所は、法廷弁論としては不可解であり、何とかして「弁明的意図」を抽出しようとする努力がなされてきた。本研究ではこれに対して、この個所の目的は、無罪判決の獲得ではなくソクラテスの哲学的生の正当化であり、これを通じて都市の道徳規範の中に哲学を受容できる枠組みを形成することであると論じた。ここから、ソクラテスの弁明全体の目的を考察し、「死刑を免れるための弁明」ではなく、「哲学の可能性を開くための自己呈示」という性格付けを行った。この論文は査読において高い評価を受け『年報政治学』に掲載された。

In 2016, the research results of the following 2 fields were obtained. The purpose of the whole is to investigate,"the death penalty is exempted,""the possibility of philosophy is opened," and the character is paid. This paper is published in the Journal of Political Science.
