项目摘要

本研究の目的は、モンゴル遊牧社会における「情報」や情報をめぐる相互行為である「情報行動」に焦点をあて、情報文化を読み解くことである。そのために、情報文化を構成する5つの軸として①情報、②情報行動、③社会関係、④情報媒体、⑤情報地図およびフローチャートを設定しており、本年度は④情報媒体を中心に研究を進めた。昨年度に引き続き、自然環境および社会環境の異なるモンゴル国内の二地域6世帯において、参与観察および聞き取りによる現地調査を実施した。また、それ以外の地域との比較を行う目的で、カザフ族が多く居住するモンゴル国西部のバヤンウルギー県、モンゴル人の最大の出稼ぎ先である韓国でも調査を行った。遊牧民の「情報行動」における「情報媒体」の一つである携帯電話の位置づけや利用法が刻々と変化している状況に鑑み、今まさに過渡期にある携帯電話の利用状況を記録し、そこでやり取りされる具体的な情報の内容を明らかにした。昨年度の調査時点では、遊牧世帯にとって携帯電話は「家電（いえでん）」として住居内で利用する媒体であり、そこでやり取りされる情報の内容は、人物の所在、伝言依頼など、誰に聞かれても差し障りのない情報に限られていた。秘匿性の高い情報が扱われない理由は、通話が来客中にも行われるため、私的な情報媒体とは見なされなかったためである。しかし、各携帯会社の基地局が次々と設置され、電波の届く範囲が広がるにつれ、携帯電話が文字通り携帯されるようになりつつある。それと同時に、「家電」と携帯電話、さらに定住地で利用するためのスマートフォンを加えると、情報行動の目的に応じて2～3個の携帯電話を使い分ける状況が起きている。今後はそれぞれの機器でやり取りされる情報の内容にどのような変化が起きているのかを明らかにしたい。なお、本調査研究の内容は、2019年6月の日本文化人類学会にて発表することが決定している。
