本研究の目的は脳血管性障害における神経細胞・神経線維の障害程度を定量的に評価し、さらにその後の回復過程を画像化することである。拡散テンソル画像を応用することにより神経線維を描出することが可能となった。また脳灌流画像においては、定量化を確立した。経時的評価を行うことにより、神経機能回復を客観的に評価する手法を確立した。
