大手製薬企業ならびにバイオベンチャー企業の特許出願に発明者として掲載されている方々を対象とするアンケート調査を行った結果、企業の研究開発を阻害する要因として影響が最も大きいのは、他の企業が保有する特許権であることが明らかになった。また、大学の保有する特許・ノウハウ・マテリアルは、大手製薬企業よりもベンチャー企業の研究開発において、高い頻度で阻害要因となっていることも明らかになった。
