项目摘要

本年度は昨年度行ったロサンゼルス調査のデータ分析を、以下の3つのテーマに基づいてさらにすすめた:1)トランスナショナルな育児戦略と母親の葛藤、2)トランスナショナル空間における日本人アイデンティティとジェンダーの交錯、3)トランスナショナルな生活における子どものアイデンティティ形成。分析からは、ロサンゼルス在住の日本人の母親たちがジェンダー化された日本人アイデンティティを強化する傾向にあるのに対し、その子どもたちの中にはアメリカの学校文化との接触を通じて、日本人/アメリカ人の境界を越えて多元的な能力の獲得機会を得る「戦略的なコスモポリタン」に成長する者がいることを指摘した。これらの内容を、異文化間教育学会、日本社会学会、日本教育社会学会で発表した。また、包括的な調査報告がロンドン大学の刊行物に掲載された。さらに本年度はロサンゼルスから帰国した家族の追跡インタビューを実施した。ロサンゼルス調査で抽出した子どもの3つのアイデンティティ型を参考にしながらデータ分析を行った結果、帰国後の適応とアイデンティティ形成には、子どもが通う学校タイプ(帰国子女受け入れ校か、公立校か、特別措置があるか)に大きく影響されていることが明らかになった。戦略的なコスモポリタン型を維持するためには、帰国子女というカテゴリーが肯定的な意味付けを伴って顕在化する学校文化が必要である。以上の内容を、日本教育学会・図書論文で発表した。
