Our study is that how the large temples in Medieval Japan cooperated with cities and societies, and what they did for the spread of education, by researching and compiling the historical materials. The large temples, that had fulfilled the function of reproducing the religious expert long time, were equipped with properties of "universities". And the personal relationship between the religious expert and the intellectual classes in cities allowed the education to spread to the society easily.

本论文的研究目的是通过对史料的整理和研究，探讨日本中世纪的大型寺庙与城市、社会的合作，以及它们对教育的传播所起的作用。长期以来，大寺庙一直在履行着繁衍宗教专家的职能，它们具有“大学”的性质。而宗教专家与城市知识阶层之间的私人关系，又使这种教育很容易向社会传播。
