Evolution and biogeography of freshwater fishes in relation to the collision of Indian subcontinent and climatic changes

We collected freshwater fish specimens from 6 Southeast Asian countries and they cover at least 8 orders, 27 families and 123 species. Taxonomic investigations, as well as molecular phylogenetic analyses of some of these groups were conducted. Based on the reliable phylogenetic framework, we discussed historical biogeography of snakeheads and catfishes in relation to paleoenvironmental changes in these regions.
