Developing a Common Reference Scale of Oral English Proficiency

本研究的最终目的是要建立一个通用的英语口语水平参考量表，供学校英语教师使用。在为期三年的获批研究期内，本研究已达致以下短期目标：(1)研究及修订暂定量表内的标准；（二）编制了新的标准，并增加了标准；(3)探讨了项目反应理论与潜在等级理论相结合的可能性。

The final aim of this study is to develop common reference scales of oral English proficiency, which can be easily used among English teachers in school. During the three-year granted research period, the following short-term goals have been achieved:(1) The rubrics included in the tentative scales have been examined and revised;(2) New rubrics have been developed and added to the scales;(3) The possibility of combining Item Response Theory and Latent Rank Theory has been discussed.
