Research on community welfare service center and NGO activities in Chinese urban areas

中国是一个大国，在很多方面还在发展。但也出现了各种各样的问题。此外，中国的独生子女政策可能会在未来造成一个严重的问题，当老年人需要别人照顾他们的日常护理。1986年，中国政府和民政部在城市建立了新的社区照顾服务体系，以解决这些社会问题。另一方面，近年来，非政府组织也开始为北京等大城市的环境或社会问题开展活动。本研究旨在了解北京市城市社区服务中心的现状、老年人的入住情况以及非政府组织的活动情况。因此，非政府组织与当地政府合作，为老年人提供福利服务，这些服务包括日托、家务助理服务等。但这一NGO活动才刚刚开始，要想创造老年人的新需求，似乎还需要付出很大的努力。

China is a big country and is still developing in many areas. But there are various problems that have arisen. Moreover, China's one-child policy may create a serious problem in the future when the elderly need others to look after them for daily care. In 1986, the Chinese government and Ministry of Civil Affairs set up new community care service systems in urban areas to address these social problems. On the other hand, in recent years, NGO activities have been also started for issues regarding the environment or social problems in big cities, such as Beijing. The purpose of this survey is to clarify current situation of the community service center, the elderly who are living in facilities and NGO activities in urban community Beijing. As a result, NGO works with a local government to provide welfare services for the elderly, these services are day care, home help services and others. But this NGO activity has just begun, it seems to take a lot of effort to create new demand of the elderly.
