Post-C. elegans nematode model～Large intestinal parasitism of Strongyloides ratti～

拉蒂圆线虫寄生在大鼠的小肠上2-3周，然后被宿主免疫迅速驱离。然而，一些成虫对这种排泄耐受，大约在感染后20天左右，开始寄生在大肠。大肠寄生被认为是它们的生存策略，这是由其他有害的宿主免疫触发的。我们已经获得了在大肠成人中表达更多的基因，这些基因的功能正在通过RNA干扰进行研究。

Strongyloides ratti parasitizes the small intestine of a rat for 2-3 weeks and then is expelled quickly by host immunity. However, some adults tolerate the expulsion, and around 20 days after infection, start parasitizing the large intestine. The large intestinal parasitism is considered as their survival strategy, which is triggered by otherwise harmful host immunity. We have obtained genes that are expressed more in large intestinal adults, and the functions of such genes are under investigation with RNA interference.
